Home of the world's second-largest barrier reef (surpassed only by Australia's Great Barrier Reef), Ambergris Caye is world-renowned for its superb Scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities, including the Hol Chan Marine Preserve. The town of San Pedro consists of three sandy streets lined with small shops and truly laid-back restaurants and bars.
