About this program

For those looking for a healthy dose of adventure and giving back, here is an exciting opportunity to travel to South Africa and make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged youth. Volunteers have the chance to assist with the objective of the program, which is to keep kids occupied and off the streets after school.

Throughout the program, you’ll work with the kids teaching them life skills with the use of educational classes, adventure activities, swimming, surfing, and skateboarding. By using exciting activities as an incentive, the kids are motivated to work hard and do well in school, in turn, providing them with more opportunities and a brighter future.

You’ll be located in the area of Western Cape, a very culturally diverse area. You’ll be working with kids who primarily speak English, but also may have homework in Afrikaans. You’ll experience a mix of classes, different cultures, and even languages. . Keeping the kids occupied will keep them from falling into the wrong crowds, and getting involved in drugs, alcohol and local gangs.

You can look forward to the following:

  • Learn how to surf and teach the kids to surf
  • Learn how to skateboard and teach the kids
  • Spend your days outside and on the beach
  • Assist in classrooms
  • Help kids develop life, educational and athletic skills
  • Make new friends
  • Learn about cultures

This is an incredible opportunity for anyone looking for a life-changing experience working with kids and making a huge difference in their lives!
