Adventure through Botswana and visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Tsodilo Hills, Victoria Falls, Okavango Delta’s northern panhandle and search for the cheetah in Savuti Marsh.
Journey by a luxurious houseboat, motorboat and game viewing vehicles, as you take in a safari unlike any other.
Arrive in Maun and board your charter flight to the Santawani Concession in the southeast Okavango Delta. Upon arrival you will be transferred overland to your safari camp, nestled under large acacia trees in a diverse and game-rich area. Most of the Santawani Concession is comprised of a mixed woodland habitat and open grasslands that are transformed into floodplains in years of plentiful water. Your activities here will focus on day and night game drives as well as pristine nature walks. The alluvial sands in these areas are very fertile, resulting in good grass growth, which attracts a multitude of grazing animal species. Wildlife is plentiful and includes leopard, lion, wild dog, cheetah, giraffe, elephant, and masses of general game.
Fly to the Linyanti Concession bordering Chobe National Park. Upon arrival at Chobe Airstrip you will be transferred overland to Linyanti Discoverer Camp, which is approximately a three-hour drive with superb game viewing en route. The landscape of Linyanti is diverse, from floodplains to open dry-land savannah and woodland with sweeping views. Wildlife includes the seldom-seen sitatunga that can be spotted in the waterways, as well as rare roan and sable antelope, plains game and of course their predators, the lion and leopard—with the endangered wild dog as an incredible bonus. Activities include game drives in the private northern sector of the concession, exploring a range of habitats, from riverbanks to scrub and forest as well as a full day excursion with lunch at a remote scenic setting.
Fly to the Xigera Concession, which will be home for your last three days in Botswana. Upon arrival you will transfer by combination of vehicle and boat to your charming camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Permanent waters dotted with palm-filled hardwood riverine forests, a multitude of clear water channels, and expansive floodplains make up the Xigera Concession. Your activities at Xigera Camp typically include mokoro and motorboat outings. Game drives are always dependent on the water levels on that particular day. Mammal sightings include water-loving red lechwe, spotted-necked otter, elephant and tsessebe along with the elusive sitatunga. Predators include leopard and spotted hyena. Xigera is a delight for bird watchers; expect to see Pel's fishing owl, African skimmer, greater swamp warbler, and wattled crane. Xigera Camp donates a portion of each bed-night to the Motswe Wa Tsholofelo Orphan Day Center in Maun. The camp is 100% solar powered!
Fly to Maun where you will connect with your departing flight home. Or if you'd like to stay longer, we offer an amazing extension trip to Victoria Falls—one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! Optional activities at Victoria Falls include strolling through lush, tropical vegetation, rafting on the Zambezi River, elephant-back safaris, microflights over the falls, bungee jumping, and more. Please call for extension information.
