Spend a long weekend exploring the incredible Death Valley National Park and all of the stunning landscapes that surround.
You’ll explore a land of total extremes as you visit the sites of the USA’s tallest peaks and lowest depths. Although this area is home to the hottest temperatures in the US, you’ll visit during times that are perfect for hiking!
Marvel at the surroundings as your guides lead you through the various landscapes, witnessing life in the most unlikely of places. Cross the salt flats that was once the site of a prehistoric lake, play in the sand dunes as the sun sets, make your ways through canyons and cliffs that continue to rise from the Death Valley’s floor.
You’ll also have a chance to visit Dante’s View where you’ll observe the beautiful ridgeline, the salt flats below and the towering Telescope Peak that stands 11,000 feet high!
In the evenings, take some time to relax at Furnace Creek Ranch where you’ll enjoy delicious dinners. After this weekend, you’ll leave feeling new perspective and completely revived!
Depart from Las Vegas and move across the Mojave Desert, exploring the footsteps of the original ´49ers. The settlers dreamed of California Gold, but often resulted in occupations that were far less idealistic, but much more profitable!
When you descend to the Death Valley, you´ll have a chance to discover Harmony Borax Works. The remains of the largest borax mine in Death Valley is well preserved here, and shows the hard work of the early pioneers.
Later, check into the lodging at Furnace Creek Ranch, a stunning retreat in the valley´s dry sands.
Your hike today begins down the road from Furnace Creek in the beautiful Golden Canyon. Watch the sun rise higher and how the rock walls that surround you glow golden! At the top, enjoy an incredible view of the valley at Zabriskie Point, before making your way down to enjoy lunch.
Later, arrive at Badwater, a massive salt flat that sits 282 feet below sea level. You´ll be amazed at the display of nature´s power as you walk across the flats. Imagine that this very site was once the location of a lake more than 10,000 years ago!
Take a detour on your return to see Artist´s Palette before arriving back at Furnace Creek.
Today´s journey takes you North from Furnace Creek to Mosaic Canyon. Marvel at the jaw-dropping colors and textures as you travel between the rock walls.
You'll emerge into the Devil's Cornfield where you may enjoy a hike over the flats to Salt Creek. Somehow this salty waterway manages to sustain life and you'll discover tiny desert pupfish that thrives in these waters!
Explore the Mesquite Sand Dunes as the sun sets.
For your last day, enjoy a big breakfast at the ranch before taking a hike to Dante's View. This peak is huge and offers incredible views of Badwater and Funeral Range.
Across the valley is the 11,000-foot Telescope Peak, with the gorgeous backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The mountains are home to Mount Whitney, which is the highest point in the contiguous USA. Hike across the ridgeline taking in the beautiful scenery that surrounds you.
Transfer back to Las Vegas.
