About this program

Join an adventure fit for the whole family! This exciting family tour combines visits to some of Jordan’s most recognized historical sites with fun activities for kids. There is so much to see and do, and this trip brings it together for you!

Experience the rich culture and important history and take part in adventurous family activities such as snorkelling in the Red Sea, camel rides, a desert 4×4 jeep safari, and float in the Dead Sea.

To begin, you will start your journey in Amman where you will head out to discover the Roman remains of Jerash. Later in Amman, you will have a chance to visit the interactive Children’s Museum. You will then enjoy a drive down the King’s Highway towards Petra, with stops along the way at Madaba, Mt. Nebo and the Castle at Kerak.

While in Petra, your family will enjoy a guided tour of the area, as well as an option to return at night to see Petra by candlelight. Head out to Wadi Rum where you’ll spend a night in a Bedouin camp, fully embracing the desert landscape.

After discovering the desert, you’ll set off to the Red Sea where you may enjoy some relaxation and snorkelling the stunning coral reefs. On your way back, you’ll enjoy a float in the Dead Sea’s salty water before heading back to Amman.

Enjoy small group sizes and expert tour guides who have experience leading children.

You'll head out of Amman today and visit the extensive Roman ruins at Jerash, some of the best preserved in the whole of the Middle East.

After a snack lunch, you return to Amman and visit the fun and interactive Children's Museum. This has areas dedicated to the human body, ancient civilisations, stars and space, optical illusions, and some fun flight simulators built into child-sized planes, hot air balloons, pedal planes and much more. There are also outdoor exhibits and overall we find this a fun place to take children of all ages for a couple of hours, and for them to see the type of museums and activities available to local Jordanian children.

Day 3: Drive the King's Highway to Petra

Leaving Amman, you drive south along the King's Highway, one of the most scenic drives in the Middle East.

We include a 2-3 hour guided tour, lunch, and plenty of free time to walk up to the High Place of Sacrifice and the Monastery if you wish and your children are feeling energetic.
