About this program

Travel to Robben Island, just off the coast of South Africa to learn about the threats against penguins, including oil spills and shipping traffic. The penguin populations has decreased by almost 90% in the last 10 years, and your help is needed!

Hike in search of nests, take surveys on populations and breeding success, as well as use exciting new technology that detects specific birds alongside local researchers. You’ll have the chance to discover Cape Town and other popular tourist centers, and join excursions before or after your expedition!
