Travel to a beautiful seaside village in Guatemala and assist with turtle conservation! You’ll have the incredible experience of making a difference, meeting like-minded travelers, making new friends, and discovering a new culture.
As a volunteer on this program, you will contribute to this program in a number of ways and can expect to get your hands dirty! You’ll be a support to the local biologists, and staff on the program through hands-on work assisting injured or sea turtles in need.

By joining this program, you will play a crucial role in the conservation of the sea turtle population on Guatemala's Pacific Coast.
Over decades of human impact, the populations of sea turtles has drastically reduced, and some species have been placed on the endangered species list. Without your help and the important conservation efforts being made in the areas of environmental, education, research, and more, the great sea turtle could become extinct.
Working with several of the main species of sea turtles to inhabit the Pacific, the main focus of this project is to protect and nurture the clutches of eggs laid across vital beach nesting grounds.
Volunteers will provide support to local biologists and staff on this dedicated sea turtle program, helping on any number of tasks required to help these amazing creatures. These tasks include:
