About this program

Go Shark Diving and Volunteer with Sharks in Gansbaai, South Africa, the White Shark Capital of the World.

Join a group of experts in marine ecotourism, conservation and biology, and assist with boat operations, tourists, and a collection of biological and oceanographic data.

Take part in other exciting volunteer duties, including working with community projects, beach clean-ups, constructing fishing line bins, and more! Enjoy the thrilling experience of cage diving as you witness a Great White Shark up close and personal. You may choose a duration of 1-12 weeks at this exciting program, pricing is outlined in the itinerary below. 

Volunteers that stay for 4 weeks or longer may have the opportunity to become more involved in the work that the marine biologists are doing, such as data entry, taking photo ID’s, etc.

This volunteer program is a must for nature-lovers, people interested in responsible ecotourism, or anyone looking for an adrenaline-pumping, fulfilling experience that makes a big difference in the understanding of sharks and the needs for conservation!

Itinerary

Working alongside world leaders in responsible marine ecotourism, research, and conservation. Help with daily tourism operations, educate ecotourists, and assist marine biologists with their data collection on Great White and Bronze Whaler Sharks, whales, dolphins, and other marine species.

If staying for 4 weeks or longer, you may have the opportunity to become more involved in the work that the marine biologists are doing, such as data entry, taking photo IDs, etc. 

Set in the Great White Shark capital of the world, you will have the opportunity to take part in conservation and community projects, cage dive, and gain experience working with other crew and tourists on the shark diving boat.

1 Week: $650 USD

2 Weeks: $1210 USD

3 Weeks: $1725 USD

4 Weeks: $2060 USD

* Additional Weeks after 4 Weeks: $440 USD / Week.
