Kick start your fitness goals with an 8-day Wellness and Fitness Challenge in Cape Town. Through the next week, you’ll test your physical abilities and learn about eating well and healthfully. 

Starting off with a fitness assessment, you’ll share your eating habits, learn your measurements, and gain tips about proper training and alignment. Later, take a walking tour and explore historical sites including the Castle of Good Hope, Grand Parade, the Parliament Buildings and the District Six Museum. 

Throughout the next part of your journey, you’ll enjoy metabolism boosting exercises, cardio training, beach pilates and a surfing lesson. This is suitable for all fitness levels, and you’ll have a chance to learn new skills! The stunning backdrop of Table Mountain definitely makes this a special experience. 

Later, try your hand at suspension bodyweight training and learn techniques you can bring home and practice. 

Your final days will include exciting activities such as a 5km run, Table Mountain hike, bike tour, an introduction to Cross Fit, Seal Snorkeling, and finally, the Warrior Challenge. 

This challenge will test all of the training you have completed this week. You’ll be pushed to the limit with a 2km run with all sorts of obstacles to complete. Finish your trip with a final assessment to check your progress!

Day 1: Arrival and Orientation

Welcome to Cape Town! You'll be met at the airport and taken to the 5-star SaltyCrax Backpackers. You will be shown around and given a map of the area. You have the day at your own leisure so you can explore the beach, shops, bars, and restaurants. In the evening you will meet with your program leader who will discuss your week's fitness camp.

You will be served a healthy dinner with the rest of your group.

Day 2: Fitness Assessment, Cooking Class and more!

Today after your fitness assessment, you'll enjoy a day out on the town visiting local historical sites including the Grand Parade and Castle of Good Hope on a walking tour. Later, you will learn all about how life under apartheid was during a visit to the Parliament Buildings and the District Six Museum. 

Enjoy shopping for local crafts and art at Greenmarket Square and St. George's Mall.

This afternoon, meet up with your health chef who will teach you about cooking healthy, and you'll learn a few recipes to enjoy for dinner. 

Day 3: Beach Cardio, Surfing and Beach Pilates

Today you'll have the chance to get your blood pumping! With an hour-long Beach Cardio session which will get your heart rate up and down. This is great for your metabolism and weightloss!

Later, take a break and hit the waves for a 2-hour surf lesson. Enjoy a healthy lunch on the beach. 

Finally, you'll be introduced to the world of Pilates. The studio has sweeping views of the beautiful turquoise sea, Table Mountain and Blouberg. End the evening with a delicious, healthy dinner prepared by the chef. 

Day 4: TRX Suspension Training

Continue your fitness journey with some TRX Suspension Training in the fitness studio. This world-famous workout was developed by a marine who was used to having little room to workout. This workout is very customizeable to each individuals fitness level and strength. 

Spend the rest of your day relaxing or venture out to Cape town to see the sights. Dinner will be ready for you when you return!

Day 5: Park Run, Table Mountain Hike

Today you may participate in a 5km run along the beach front. The Park Run events are each Saturday and Sunday around the world. Each run is based in a unique location. Your running time gets logged and you'll be able to participate in runs all over the world. 

After, take the chance to hike Table Mountain! If your fitness level allows, you may hike up and down, or choose to hike one way and take the cable car the other (for a fee). At the top, marvel at the amazing views, as well as the infamous Abseil! 


Day 6: Cape Point Bike Tour

Enjoy the chance today to take a scenic drive around the Cape of Good Hope. Stop off to see the happy little penguins on the beach and take a cycle around the nature reserve. 

Day 7: Cross Fit, Seal Snorkeling, Pilates

Cross Fit is all the rage the world over. Enjoy a Crossfit-style workout today and really challenge yourself and your strength. You'll use squat jumps, chin up bars, ropes, rowing machines, free weights to embark on full-body strength training. 

Move on to Hout Bay where you'll have an incredible experience snorkeling with seals. 

Finish today's activities with a sunset beach pilates class. 

Day 8: Warrior Challenge & Final Assessment

The last day of your wellness tour includes a Warrior Challenge in the park. This challenge will push you with a 2km run, obstacles to hurdle, jump, swing and run up. This challenge has penalty challenges if you don't complete some of the obstacles!

Immediately after, you'll continue to cardio and endurance training. You'll work the whole body, which boosts your metabolism and burns fat!

Take your final measurements and see your progress for the week. Leave feeling motivated to continue your new lifestyle!
